HALLO☆WEEN

This is going to be short and sweet! I haven't been very active on my blog lately because:
1) I did something with my laptop (upgraded my OS system) and my programs are acting weird :( my usual blogging routine has been interrupted!!!

2) Super busy- which kills me because I have so much content!!

Anyways Halloween today, didn't really do anything "Halloween" related! Just put on a costume that I bought a while back for fun and snapped a few pictures XD The character is Yuna from Final Fantasy X.  Yes...I'm missing lots of accessories LOL

| 1 | Peace & love! haha So much love for family and friends now, and my special someone keke

| 2 | Another picture....because I really wanted to show off my necklace!!

| 3 | Head to toe shot :) Bought this costume off eBay a while back! It sure photographed well!

| 4 | What I actually wore today...I guess it still fit? Halloween theme..black lol

Goodnight for now!

KIEHL'S☆SMASHBOX☆PINK CIRCLE LENSES

[KIEHL'S ULTRA FACIAL SET]

So this isn't the first time that I've blogged about Kiehl's, but I couldn't help but make another post about it lol
I recently stepped into the Kiehl's in Bellevue, during a short weekend trip and the lady there was nice enough to give me the PERFECT sized KIEHL'S ULTRA FACIAL CREAM.  Having this...my travel collection is complete!!  Wheee~ hehe I never leave the house for a trip without my Kiehl's!!

| 3 | Side by side...so cute!!

[SMASHBOX PRIMERS]

So I've been using two different Smashbox primers, the Photo Finish Light and Photo Finish (Original Formula).  I've come across these issues:

PHOTO FINISH LIGHT

Pros: I love how light weight this primer is, I can wear it over my sunscreen--no problem; I never have to worry about an oily face after a few hours of wearing this, even with sunscreen!
Cons: Too light for me, I can't see too big of an effect of this product.  I need to use quite a bit of this product to feel like it's working for me.

PHOTO FINISH THE ORIGINAL FORMULA
Pros: Beautiful finish after makeup application; for my skin, skin looks polished.
Cons: This product works best on me without any sunscreen.  The way that this products works best for me, is to apply this right after my toner and before foundation/bb cream.  Perhaps it's because I use BB Cream rather than foundation, but I can not mix this with my Kiehl's sunscreen. Mind you my sunscreen is very light weighted and applies more like a toner even.

I needed something in between...

Smashbox has given me the answer to my prayers!!

PHOTO FINISH MORE THAN PRIMER UNIFICATEUR PLUS
Pros: I've been using this primer for one week now, and it's GREAT. It gives me the effect that I'm looking for, primes great with my Dr.G Hydra Intensive BB Cream.  Also, what I love about this primer is that it doesn't make my skin feel SUPER greasy by the end of the day! I will definitely re-purchase!
Cons: I have a feeling that I'm going to use this up really quickly lol That's the only con I have about this :P

[G&G PINK CIRCLE LENSES REVIEW]
I got these lenses from the Night Market actually, I bought few different pairs.  I haven't actually opened the other ones yet, but I did try out these pink G&G ones! The salesperson at the stand was really nice and actually gave this pair to me :) Freebie! They used to have an online store...but not anymore :( I wish I could link them!

These were a gift from the store! :)

Feel -
     4/5
Quite alright, I haven't really worn these out for long periods of time, but so far so good :) Pretty normal for circle lenses lol

Overall -
★     3/5

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of enlargement when choosing circle lenses, these lenses are great in photographs but are not very natural.  (Most likely due to these lenses being pink) Honestly they look a little bit too scary for me to wear on regular occasions during the day time :) Would I re-purchase? Maybe not, pink is a little too much for me ^_^

MID☆SUMMERS

[WEEKEND IN VICTORIA]
Spent a fun-filled weekend in Victoria visiting C and his family. Lots of fruit picking, picture taking, good times.  Too bad the weather wasn't that great though :( Ah well ~

| 1 | Enjoying time at DAVIDSTEA in Uptown ❤ Loved my Sweet Strawberry!
| 2 | If in Uptown...this is a must go to for me LOL CUPCAKES...the Original
| 3 | Red Velvet goodness
| 4 | Mini's to go! hehe so cute!
| 5 | Apple & Plum picking in the orchard! Look at the results of our hard work!

| 9 | Three...Three of my favourite shots from the 'photoshoot' lol

[HOLIKA HOLIKA: AQUA SPLASH -2° ICE CUBE REVIEW]
Okay...I bought this because I thought the concept was really cool...I imagined this to be...a cube shaped jelly of some sort... didn't really know what to expect in terms of results.

Affordability -
     2/5
$5.40 CAD for 6 cubes isn't too bad...it comes up to about $0.90 a cube per use.  At the same time, the cubes are really small...and I didn't think it was worth it...

Feel -
   ☆  0.5/5
It was quite difficult rubbing this..jelly all over my face...it didn't seem to want to stick and it smelled of rubbing alcohol. Perhaps I'm using this product incorrectly...someone please correct me if they love this product, but I honestly did not like this and didn't think that it did anything for me.  I was quite suspicious of the 'mask's' smell and washed it all off after application.  It smelled...toxic.

Overall -
★     1/5

Besides a good concept and cute packaging... I will not re-purchase this.  It is definitely not something that works for my skin.  I can imagine that this product can potentially be comfortable in the summer time, after being refrigerated... somehow I do not feel inclined to revisit the remainder of my 5 cubes.

| 1 | The packaging! Just like yogurt lol
| 2 | What the 'ice cube' looks like...

[LUSH: LOVE LETTUCE MASK REVIEW]
Alright, so after an excellent experience with my first Lush mask, BB Seaweed, I went back for a second one! This time, I tried "Love Lettuce."

Affordability -
     5/5
Again $6.95 CAD for 2.1OZ is a great deal! I've used this mask at LEAST 6 times.  I won't argue, the texture of this mask is about the same as BB SEAWEED, so it'll last you a good few times of application :)

Feel -
★  ★   4/5
Again, it is mandatory to store this mask in the fridge.  What I do have to give an extra half a point to this mask, is that the almond particles are small enough that they don't clog your drain up as easily. lol You will still have to be careful, but it isn't as extreme as the BB SEAWEED. You're not going to get as strong of natural oil scents out of this mask though, in comparison to BB SEAWEED.  I did like how this mask makes my skin feel though afterwards. I've been using this mask every day for the last three days and I've noticed that my skin has become softer.  I also like that the little almond bits help to exfoliate when you remove the mask.  Now I'm going to give it the same score as BB SEAWEED because I honestly think that BB SEAWEED is superior in moisturizing.  Yes, Love Lettuce is a good everyday mask, but for deep moisturizing, I would choose BB SEAWEED over Love Lettuce.

Overall -
★  ★ ★   5/5
Another great mask from Lush, I'm giving it a 5/5 for overall even though I docked half a point for 'feel'.  Even though it doesn't give as much moisture in my opinion as BB SEAWEED, it still does a very good job and makes a great every day mask.  I will DEFINITELY repurchase this! I love the smell of this, the feel of this, AND it gives my skin moisture which I love.

[THOUGHTS OF THE DAY]

Are there times that you just WISH you could find a song that suited your current life's situation, whether it be in your romantic relationship, career, or just in general? I just want to find it and listen to it on repeat...

SUMMER☆DAYS

So the sun finally has decided to come out in Vancouver :) It's been GREAT!
Although I have to say...it's my first summer spent working and not studying...it still feels a little weird lol

Nevertheless, I've been keeping busy! Had a great weekend to boot :)

Here's what I've been up to:

[BAKING FOR CHARITY]

I made some cupcakes for our bake sale at work :) We raised $$ for Children's Miracle Network! I used Ms. Martha Stewart's Toasted Marshmellow Cupcake recipe.  I LOVE Martha Stewart's work ~ I just wish I had more time and energy to try some more of her recipes and DIY's more often >.<

Although I have to say...for this particular recipe, I would have preferred using some chocolate chips in the cupcake batter :) Just for a bit more chocolatey taste!!

| 1 | Before they go back into the oven a second time :)

| 2 | After they have gone back into the oven a second time!

[CANADA DAY WEEKEND IN VICTORIA]
Headed over and spent my semi-long weekend in Victoria visiting C and his family :)
I don't believe I've EVER participated in Canada Day festivities so this was a first for me, either that, or I just have no recollection of participating lol It was so much fun!! I've never really seen Victoria so packed before lol

I had such a great weekend :) We were always on the go >A< I wish I had brought some red and white clothes with me :( I wanted to 'pack light' (which I totally failed at!!) SUCKY! lol

| 1 | Catching the Canada Day festivities,  look at all that red and white!
| 2 | We also had fish and chips at Red Fish Blue Fish and let me just say...that it was the most AMAZING fish and chips that I've EVER had. We tried two different types of fish out of three: salmon, cod, and halibut.  The halibut was AMAZING.
| 3 | (Super tall) Ian!
| 4 | The girls :)
| 5 | During my visit in Victoria, I met two little bodies of constant energy - Lucy & Harry.  Four words to describe them: CUTE, LOTS OF ENERGY.  lol

Life in Victoria may not be as loud and busy as life in Vancouver, but there's really a different type of quality of life that you can find there... I really appreciate that.  I am also very thankful for all the people in my life who make it possible for me to enjoy such wonderful experiences; C, my parents, and C's family.

[LUSH: BB SEAWEED MASK REVIEW]
So after reading about Lush in the most recent issue of LouLou Magazine, I decided to give their masks a try! Lush is known for their fresh, handmade cosmetics.  I've tried their shower gel before and it was amazing.

I have quite dry skin, and need to be hydrated on a constant basis.  Also, I need to get back into the habit of drinking more water lol Because I wanted hydration, BB Seaweed was a good choice for me :)

Affordability -
     5/5
$6.95 CAD for 2.1OZ may seem small to you at first, but let me tell you that you'll get your bang for your buck.  The saleslady told me that I'd probably be able to use it up after 2-3 times.  I have used the BB Seaweed Mask three times now, and still have a little bit less than half a jar left... I guess it also depends on how much you slap on, but I applied quite a bit onto my face and there's still plenty to spare.  Think about it this way... $7 for 5-6 applications...that's just a little bit more than $1/application.  It's really not bad.

Feel -
★  ★   4/5
It is MANDATORY to store this mask in the fridge, and so it feels REALLY nice on your face.  Now that being said...we have been getting some warmer weather lately...so I'm not sure how much I'd appreciate slapping on a cold mask during the winter time, hence, the point deduction.  Another thing... is something that I both love and hate about this mask - there are SO many BITS and PIECES of seaweed and other natural goodness in the mask.  The seaweed is quite hard, so it feels almost like I can rub it on my face and exfoliate... I have been exfoliating before using this mask, so the seaweed doesn't do much for me in terms of its physical presence.  I don't doubt at all the benefits that it has on my skin though.

Overall -
★  ★   4.5/5
I love using this mask right after exfoliating and before applying makeup.  I have been finding that my makeup applies much easier and my skin looks much more nourished and healthy.  I would definitely re-purchase this product.  The only major downside to this are the bits and pieces of seaweed...not only are they hard and dry, but they don't seem to be a good match with my drain...hence be really careful when you're washing off this mask- do what you can to prevent a clogged sink if you use this product all the time!!  I do love this mask though :) Definitely want to try out some of the other ones as well ^_^

| 1 | The jar that it comes in, a decent size. Nice and clean, you can just twist the cap on and off.
| 2 | What it looks like on my skin, notice the seaweed bits!! Looks like tuna paste lol
| 3 | Closeup of the contents inside the jar

**I am not affiliated nor sponsored by Lush, all opinions are my own and for sharing purposes only!

[SUMMER RENDEZVOUS]
| 1 | Took a great shot of my mom (if I do say so myself) *laughs shamelessly* hohohohoho**
| 2 | I think this is the only shot that we have together...ever @_@

[WENDY'S 1/4 CENTURY CELEBRATION!]
Lunched with many lovelies at Kingyo on Denman :)

| 1 | We each had the bento box, that came with 10 dishes, miso, and rice.  Don't underestimate the size of the dishes...they were quite filling @_@ I really admire the Japanese for the effort they put into their food.  Everything looks so pretty and well thought out!

[FINE DINING]
Dined at Hart House with the family & Chu's :) GREAT DINNER. (Mosquito bites = -1, but that's ok!)
I am not a super huge fan of filet mignon but I have to say...that theirs was AMAZING. I can't stop thinking about it...

| 1 | Look at this juicy bugger...
| 2 | Look at this gorgeous bugger ;)
| 3 | *GOBBLE GOBBLE*
| 4 | Everyone...except for Miss TC, who is in HK...wish u the best of luck my dear* (if u ever read this :P)

[THOUGHTS OF THE DAY]

An interesting topic came up at dinner - the topic of finding/choosing a gf/bf.  My dad was sharing what he had read about in a magazine about only three different approaches that people take.

To better get the point across, the example of someone going shopping for the perfect fruit at a market was used. Each person was given 30 minutes to find their "perfect fruit."

Person A
: The one who jumps at the first "opportunity" within the first 5 minutes of shopping and later regrets his/her choice because they see something better next door...

Person B
: The one who walks around the marketplace...thinking that there is someone better at the next stall.  Because they take too long to decide, they run out of time, and end up grabbing anything that they see in desperation.

Person C
: The one who goes to the first store, analyzes the first fruit, and then walks to the next to reflect qualities of both fruit that they had encountered.  They then make the decision afterwards as to which one they thought was best.

Now if only it were that easy...lol
Perhaps I am wrong...but I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one who says this - Love comes when you least expect it.

Now...if I were writing and identifying different approaches to searching for love - I'd probably add at LEAST one more.

Person D
: The one who walks into the market and is drawn to only ONE fruit.  This fruit is not perfect  - nor are any of the rest, but something about this fruit just attracts the person to the fruit.  It's a bond that has started even before the person even picks the fruit up.

SEATTLE☆TRIP

Yipeee~ Headed down South with the girls for a one day shopping trip!! :)
We visited Westfield South Centre, and then charged down to the Seattle Premium Outlets!
Too bad we got taxed on our way back... :( But it was lots of fun!!

Can't quite recall how much time we spent at Southcentre...but we all acted like kids in a candy store lol

Lovely ladies ❤

Entering...dun dun dun CHEESECAKE FACTORY! I've been to Seattle so many times, and never have I tried this place.  Their cheesecake was absolutely AMAZING. Like SUPERBLY amazing. Loved their red velvet!! Tip: Definitely SHARE. There's no way ANY one of us could finish the whole thing on our own... especially after what they called "lunch sized portions" of our meals... (comprised of pasta and other heavy carb goodness lol)

Here the girls are waiting for a table ^_^..don't think I've ever been in a Cheesecake Factory where there was no queue...which is probably why I've never dined there before lol

My EXCELLENT-sized margherita pizza.  The waiter was like, "Are you sure that's enough?" And I asked how big...somehow his gesture made it bigger...but the girls shared their pastas with me and it was MORE than enough @_@ We all literally carried our stomachs out the door...and weren't able to finish all our food...

Outside the Rainforest Cafe lol. Boy do we miss this place :( Although it was kind of scary =.=;; sitting beside some loud and whiny monkeys while you dine...they had good fries though)

[MY PURCHASES]
Haha so I took some pictures of some of my purchases...didn't include everything here, due to lighting/focus (I need to work on my photography =.=)

As usual..Kiehls lol I didn't know when I was going back to the states...so I picked up the Super Fluid  >.< Don't want to run out and have to pay a lot more in Vancouver!!! kakak~ Maybe that's just an excuse :P But no, it was great, I purchased these at Nordstrom and got a travel sized Ultra Facial Cream (Great deal already) AND a second packet full of different samples.  I actually purchased two of the toner and cleanser lol, one set for my mommy)

My Sephora haul was not..too bad? LOL They were all things I needed!! (Or was running out of XD)

Great sandals I picked up from Vince Camuto at the outlets! Although I have to say... I have no idea when I'll EVER be able to wear these  =.= The weather in Vancouver on my days off have been dreadfully...wet...and grey... ORZ

And...drumrolll
.
.
.
.
Bought my first ever! Michael Kors!! :) It was a GREAT PRICE.  hehehehe Thanks to Cryz for pointing it out..and talking me into it XD

HEHEHEHE A week later and I'm still so excited about my purchases! Even though I haven't really unboxed most of them ...

[LIFE]

It goes on and on ... must stay strong and motivated~!
